3. Observations are backed up with quotes from the story.

6. Journal contains very few grammatical, mechanical or fluency errors.
Additionally, but not mandatory:
1. Comments on what may be puzzling or confusing in the story as it pertains to irony.
2. Makes connections between students own experience of an ironic situation and/or what happens in the story.
